Kitty Acrobatics with The Paper Shelter

Big news for the 2018 - I am back on the DT at The Paper Shelter.
I used to be on the DT there a while ago but had to step down when my kids were younger and we were having trouble with my youngests boys health.
But we have all that under control now and all the kidlets are now at school (oldest is in his last year of Primary before high school ARGHHHHHH, where does the time go?)

The theme of this fortnights challenge is New Beginnings.
I have used Kitty Acrobatics from the TPS SHOP

I thought it was appropriate as a lot of people decide to lose weight as a New Year's resolution and she looks like she is exercising ;)

I have used promarkers to colour the image.
The papers are from my stash of 6x6 pads and I added some pearls around the image to give it a bit of bling.

Thanks loads for dropping by and be sure to come and play along with our challenge at The Paper Shelter Challenge.  You don't have to use TPS images to enter but if you do you can win a $30 voucher for the TPS shop. Fantastic prize.

I would like to enter the following challenges...

Unicorn Wishes with Bizzy Becs

Time for our monthly ANYTHING GOES challenge at BIZZY BECS

I was feeling all whimsical the day I made this card.
I love unicorns and if you follow me on here or my FACEBOOK PAGE you may have seen
my unicorn profile pic I had up for a while.

I am excited that I got a big shot for Christmas as my trusty cuttlebug was on its last legs and making a horrible clunk when I wound the dies through.
Much easier now with my new machine and it has been getting a bit of a workout as you will see in my upcoming posts.

So onto the card....

I used a stencil on the background with tumbled glass distress ink on a makeup sponge.
I then added the puffy cloud diecuts and my unicorn which is coloured with promarkers.
I added my sentiment and the liquid pearl drops to finish.

A Beary Merry Christmas with Bizzy Bec's

Hi I am here to share the love on Christmas day.
I hope everyone is having a truly wonderful Christmas.

This is my Christmas card for you today, showing that loads of stamps can be changed to add a little Xmas magic.

I have used Harry has happy mail from Stamping Bella and added a little santa hat from the Lawn Fawn Fleece Navidad stamp set.

The main image was stamped directly onto my cardbase and coloured with alcohol markers before adding the little hat which I stamped on a spare piece of card and cut out.

I then added the bakers twine on the side as a bit of interest.

Thanks loads for coming by the blog and be sure to enter our monthly anything goes challenge

AHOY!!! Birthday Wishes

October is a pretty busy Birthday month around here.
We have our oldest and youngest's birthdays plus my dad who celebrated 80 years on the planet last week.  It was lovely to see one of my brothers who visited from Australia for 10 days.  It was cool hanging out with him and getting a few things done around our parents together.

But way back at the beginning of the month we had a pirate party, complete with a pirate ship cake.  Which was no easy task to make.
I am learning that as long as the cake looks somewhere along the lines of what they want and had lots of lollies on it the kids will be happy.

To go with the pirate theme I came up with a pirate card....

I used the Ahoy Matey stamp set by Lawn Fawn, available from Bizzy Bec's Online store.
I cut the circle with a basic circle die and set some hand cut waves behind behind along with the boat.
The images are coloured with copics.

Thanks for dropping by

Be a Shining Star with Lawn Fawn and Bizzy Bec's

Hi, I am here with you today to share a card made with

I actually made this as a sample card for a children's card making workshop I held in the holidays.
The children had lots of fun cutting out the animals with the Upon a Star Lawn Cuts dies and popping them off the card with foam dots.
I also used Meadow Borders Lawn Cuts to make the hill the animals are sitting on.
The white stars and sentiment are embossing powder.

Thanks so much for dropping by today.

A few Things......

Those more observant of you may have noticed I have been pretty quiet.
Well I have had a very sick son.
He has Osteomylitis and was admitted to hospital for a week a couple of weeks ago.
He could have lost his toe if not his foot if I hadn't kept pushing that something wasn't right about his "infected toe".  After the third visit to our local practice we finally had some luck as the doctor we got was AMAZING!  She got us booked into the hospital for an appointment with the orthopaedic clinic.
He booked an MRI for a few days later with a follow up at the hospital a day later.
When we arrived at the hospital following the MRI we arrived at clinic to find the specialist waiting for us and my son was rushed straight into the children's ward.
He was kept in for a week on iv antibiotics.
We are now home and he has a picc line and elastomerics and we are under hospital in the home care for the next 5 weeks.
It has been pretty scary!

Here are some pics from the time in hospital....

All Up In The Stars

I decided a couple of days ago to give a moving card a crack.  I have seen loads of cool cards round the net lately using the MFT movement dies like Surf & Turf & Circle Spinner dies.

So I went on a little surf in the Krafter's Cart store and bought a couple of cute stamp sets and some of the dies.

I was so excited for them to arrive and honestly, even though I live at the bottom of the North Island and Krafters Cart is in Auckland, I shit you not, they were here the NEXT day!

Unfortunately ALL my kids were home sick at different stages during the week with all 4 home on Friday GAH.

BUT I did manage to slip into my craft room on Wednesday afternoon with Will asleep in the sun in here on the lazy boy and get a couple of hours crafting done.

I made this......

I also made a MUCH crappier one that I have pulled apart to use the good bits on another card.
Definitely a case of practice made it better.

The papers are from The Digi Chick.
The image is coloured with promarkers.

Thanks loads for dropping by

Bizzy Bec's Inspiration - Popping Up With Lacey

Hi, I here with you today with something a little different for me.
Instead of just sharing my finished card, am going to share how I popped her out from the card.
If you have been card making for a while you will already know how to do this but if there are any newbies reading it might be helpful.

First I stamped Stamping Bella Lacey has a letter twice. Once on left over paper and once on the layer I want to use on my card.
Then I cut out the dress and head with sharp fine point scissors.

Then I coloured my main image.  The parts that will be covered  I coloured minimally to save ink in my promarkers.
Then I coloured up the cut out pieces.

Then I added foam tape to the cut outs and added them to the image.

To finish I added Lawn Fawn Big Scripty words stamp and Big Scripty words lawn cuts "thanks"
I also diecut some Memory Box Puffy Clouds to add to the background.

Thanks so much for visiting us today and be sure to check out more inspiration from the Design Team members on the Bizzy Bec's Store Blog :)

Huggly Little Hedgehogs

Time for our new challenge over at SOUTHERN GIRLS, brought to you by the fabulous team Lou.
This fortnight we want to see SPARKLE!

Our very spectacular sponsors are Krafter's Cart and Polkadoodles.

For my card I have used Happy Hedgehogs by MFT - Follow the link to find it at Krafter's Cart.

Super cute set...

And if you like diecutting your stamps, there is a matching die set to go go with the stamp set.
I coloured my images with promarkers before cutting them out and adhering them on the card base with foam tape.
I had already diecut the "FRIENDS" into the card base and layered the sparkly silver paper onto the card base.
Nice and easy and VERY cute.

ANZAC tribute

Today is ANZAC day here in New Zealand ans Australia.
The 25th is also my post day for Bizzy Becs.
So I have decided to make today's card a tribute to all those that gave and give their lives to defend us.

I have used an image from Flower Festival from Penny Black..

Unfortunately I had to hand write the sentiment and my writing is pretty hohum.

I coloured the image using H20 watercolours.
